Syonsby Acres is the latest location for a defibrillator in Melton Mowbray. Working with the Town Estate, Syonsby Acres is a community golf and recreation centre which also has a pre-school and camping site. It is a hugely popular attraction all the year around, and as a sports facility, higher risk from Cardiac Arrest.

"We are delighted to support the Town Estate again, and this site makes the 10th in Melton, and the 428th in Leicestershire, provided via CHT. All defibrillators sites should be supported with a sustainability and governance programme and this site will be also registered onto the National defibrillator Database (www.nddb.uk).” Training of staff took place Monday morning at the centre.

Toby Heaver, Manager of Syondsby Acres said “It is really great to have the defibrillator here at the centre. Having a defibrillator handy will give visitors more confidence in helping in any emergency situation that may occur”.

Publicly accessible sites also need the correct Public liability to ensure the community is protected. We try to address all of these areas for a community, and the site at Syondsby has all these in place”.

All schemes will be asked to sign an agreement taking responsibility for their own fund raising and donations to CHT, and then the operation and maintenance of the cPAD equipment. All CHT provided schemes will need to manage their maintenance through the WebNoS online system as a condition of CHT support. It is your responsibility to maintain the equipment in working order and to make sure the local ambulance service is aware of this. WebNoS makes this possible and also acts as an audit trail for management of the equipment. Sites provided by CHT and not using WebNoS may be disengaged from the ambulance service CAD systems.
